Over the years there has been much confusion about among Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but alternatively uses that old sense of the saying, a place for "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this function since the original structure was internal the 1880s, becoming a gathering place for Detroiters for generations.
The first building to get called the Casino was built-in 1887, as Belle Isle was being transformed into a municipal park. It was constructed to support events, bazaars, and things of that nature, which its successor was made to do at the same time. The original building burnt down in the early 1900s.
The original building was replaced in 1907 having a building produced by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has continued to offer its function successfully read more for well over 10 years now, and it is future seems being secure well to the future, despite the problems that Belle Isle has already established in recent years.
